Optimization of Process Conditions of Cotton Fabric Dyeing with Nettle Leaf Extract for Antibacterial Application Using Central Composite Design

نویسندگان

چکیده

In this study, all conditions of the natural dyeing process cotton fabric with antibacterial efficiency, extracted from leaves nettle were optimized using a central composite design. The are: concentration 16.943 g, temperature 50 °C, time 40 min, and color strength obtained at optimum condition was 1.53. Nettle dye is applied to fabrics by Pad-Dry-Cure method for imparting properties textile product apparel applications. Biomordants on scoured in pre-mordanting dyeing. Color characteristics dyed measured CIE L*a*b* value spectrophotometer. Gram-positive (S. aureus) gram-negative (E. coli) bacterial assessments performed quantitatively AATCC-100 test method. results provided evidence that treated exhibits higher efficiency gram-positive bacteria 96.5–98% reduction compared control samples, respectively. one having highest activity washed 15 times under same samples taken after 1, 5, 10, washes. They retained nearly 91% S. aureus 94% E. coli up 10 launderings against two bacteria.

Dyeing of Cotton Fabric with Natural Dyes Improved by Mordants and Plasma Treatment

Nowadays, there is a great tendency for eco-dyeing and finishing of textiles with natural products. several natural dyes have been used for dyeing of protein fibers but a low number have the ability to dye cotton fiber because of low affinity of cellulose to the natural dyes. In this study madder and weld natural colorants were used to dye cotton fabric premordanted with three metallic salt...
